FAQs
OphIntel can work with a variety of purchasing and spend reports, including invoices, supplier spend reports, item master exports, purchasing reports, and vendor pricing files. In most cases, we can begin an audit using the reports your facility already receives from its primary suppliers.
What data do you need?
1
How long does the audit take?
2
OphIntel delivers a comprehensive procurement intelligence audit, including benchmark analysis and identified savings opportunities, within 15 business days of receiving the requested data.
Is our data confidential?
3
Yes. Protecting customer information is a core part of our process. OphIntel anonymizes all customer data used for benchmarking purposes and removes facility names, ownership information, and identifying location details. All engagements are protected by confidentiality agreements.
Do I need to switch vendors?
4
Not necessarily. Many savings opportunities can be achieved through improved pricing, contract negotiations, product standardization, or ordering practices with your existing suppliers. In some cases, OphIntel may recommend evaluating alternative vendors based on pricing, availability, quality, or service levels.
We already belong to a GPO.
Why benchmark?
5
Group Purchasing Organizations can be valuable tools, but they do not represent every vendor, product category, or pricing opportunity within ophthalmology. OphIntel evaluates a broader range of suppliers and market data to provide additional pricing visibility and identify opportunities that may exist outside of GPO contracts.
Do you sell products?
6
No. OphIntel is an independent, vendor-neutral consulting company. We do not manufacture, distribute, or sell products. Our role is to identify savings opportunities, provide market intelligence, and support informed purchasing decisions.
How are success fees calculated?
7
Success fees are based on verified savings achieved through the implementation of OphIntel recommendations.
Once a recommendation has been fully implemented, savings are measured using the most recent 90 consecutive days of purchasing activity and compared to the facility's prior purchasing costs. The savings are then annualized, and OphIntel receives 15% of the verified first-year savings.
Example:
Previous annual spend: $20,000
New annual spend: $10,000
Annualized savings: $10,000
OphIntel success fee (15%): $1,500
What types of facilities do you work with?
8
OphIntel specializes in ophthalmology surgery centers, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), physician-owned surgical facilities, and clinical eye care practices throughout the United States.
